La Polla Records, a punk rock band from Salvatierra/Agurain, Ãlava, Spain, was formed in 1979. The group consisted of Evaristo Páramos on vocals, Maleguin on bass, Fernandito on drums, and Txarly and Sumé on guitars. Inspired by the British punk movement, they performed their first gig on December 9, 1979. Their breakthrough came with the release of the EP Y ahora qué? in 1983 under the Oihuka label. The band's controversial name and lyrics criticizing fascism, militarism, capitalism, and Catholicism made them a symbol of rebellion. They released their first LP, Salve, in 1984, which was certified Gold. Notable albums include Revolución!! (1985) and Donde se habla (1988). The band disbanded in 2003 following the release of El último (el) de La Polla, after the death of drummer Fernandito. In 2019, the band reunited and released an album, Ni descanso, ni paz!, after a 16-year hiatus from performing together. The group disbanded again in 2021.
