Biography
Kyng is an American hard rock and stoner metal band from Los Angeles that formed in 2008. The group consists of Eddie Veliz on vocals and guitar and Pepe Clarke on drums, with Tony Castaneda previously serving as the bassist and backup vocalist. They signed with Razor & Tie Records in 2013. Their debut studio album, Trampled Sun, was released in 2011. From this recording, the singles âFalling Downâ and âI Don't Believeâ reached number 30 and number 35 on the Mainstream Rock chart. They followed this with their second album, Burn the Serum (2014), which was co-produced by James Rota and Andrew Alekel. The single âElectric Haloâ from the album reached number 25 on the Mainstream Rock chart in 2014. Their third full-length studio album, Breathe in the Water, was released in 2016. This recording reached number 13 on the Heatseekers Albums chart and number 20 on the Hard Rock Albums chart. The band has toured with notable heavy metal and rock acts including Megadeth, Static-X, Danzig, and Clutch. They also performed at the Orion Music + More Festival hosted by Metallica in 2012. Subsequent releases by them include the album Beyond the Dead Woods (2021).
