Kwesi Sey, professionally know as Kwes. or Kwes, born 1987 in London, United Kingdom, is a British electronic producer, songwriter, and composer who began playing his grandparents' organ at four. He released his first single "Hearts in Home" in 2009, followed by the EP No Need to Run in 2010, establishing his presence in the London underground scene. In 2012 he signed with Warp Records and issued the EP Meantime, then debuted the album ilp in 2013, receiving critical acclaim. Subsequent releases include the soundtrack Rye Lane in 2023, which earned a BIFA award for Best Original Music, and the studio album Kinds in 2026. Kwes. has collaborated with artists such as Damon Albarn, Solange Knowles, and Sampha, solidifying his role as a respected figure in contemporary electronic music.
