Biography

Hailing from Sherman, Texas, metalcore band Kublai Khan, now Kublai Khan TX, was formed in 2009 by guitarist Nolan Ashley and vocalist Matt Honeycutt. After a first self-released EP in 2010, Youth War, Kublai Khan signed with Artery Recordings and recorded his debut album Balancing Survival & Happiness, released in 2014 and well received by specialist critics. The following year saw the release of New Strength, before a change of label to Rise Records. Nomad was released in 2017, followed by Absolute in 2019. Returning after the Covid-19 pandemic, Kublai Khan TX unveils the Lowest Form of Animal EP, from which the single "Swan Song" is taken, featuring Terror's Scott Vogel. In 2024, several singles including "Theory of Mind" herald the release of the fifth album Exhibition of Prowess, whose track "Supreme Ruler" reaches number 14 in the US hard rock charts.
