Biography

Kruiz was a heavy metal band from the Soviet Union, formed in Moscow in 1978. Initially known for their soft and hard rock sound with Russian lyrics, Kruiz released their first album The Top in 1980. In 1985, after a brief hiatus due to government restrictions, Valery Gaina reformed the band with a new lineup and shifted their musical direction towards heavy metal. Their debut metal album, Kruiz-1, was released in 1987 and sold one million legal copies. The original vocalist, Alexandre Monin, passed away in 2010.
