Biography

Kowloon Walled City, a sludge band from San Francisco, was formed in 2007 and originally consisted of Scott Evans, Ian Miller, and Jason Pace. The trio took their name from an illegal settlement in Hong Kong. Their debut EP Turk Street was released in 2008, followed by their first full-length album, Gambling on the Richter Scale, in 2009. Notable albums include Container Ships (2012) and Grievances (2015). The band is known for recording live in the studio and releasing all their music as free downloads alongside physical copies. Their sound, featuring deep-tuned guitars and a prominent bass, has been compared to bands like Neurosis and Jesus Lizard.
