Kolinga is a Franco-Congolese band founded in 2013 by Rébecca M'Boungou, a singer of Congolese origin. Their music blends Afrobeat, soul, jazz and folk, with influences from traditional African music. In 2014, they released their debut EP Moko, which received a positive reception thanks to its haunting rhythms and engaging lyrics. The group distinguishes itself by using several languages, including French, Lingala and English, to tackle themes such as exile, identity and social struggles. In 2018, Kolinga released their debut album Toma, confirming their position on the international music scene. The album unveils Afro-soul sounds and jazz music influences, enriching their repertoire with strong, poetic messages.
