Kodama Kazufumi, originally a member of MUTE BEAT, launched his own band, Kodama and The Dub Station Band, after releasing four solo albums. Initially formed for a one-night event in 1999 at Shinjuku Liquid Room titled Kodama Kazufumi & His friends the band began an ongoing project following the release of their 1999 rehearsal tapes as "IN THE STUDIO" in 2005. This release marked the beginning of their formal activities as a band, leading to the album "MORE" in 2006. Unfortunately, the band faced a hiatus due to their label's closure. In December 2015, after a significant hiatus and a lineup change, the band resumed activities. The members includes Kodama Kazufumi (trumpet, vocals), HAKASE-SUN (keys), Toshiya Mori (drums), Kouichi (bass), and Akihiro (guitar), with the addition of ARIWA (trombone, vocals) in the winter of 2018. In March 2018, the band released a mini-album Himawari / HIMAWARI DUB which included a cover of the theme song from the movie Himawari. Their continued efforts culminated in the release of their first original full-length album Kasuka na Kibou in November 2019. In June 2021, they released a 12-inch double A-side single featuring a cover of JAGATARA's "Mou Gaman Dekinai." The band's style mixes dub with various musical influences, marked by a return to their roots with new energy and creativity, as reflected in their track "Is This Love" (2024)
