Biography

Klaus & Klaus, a German schlager duo, was formed in 1980 when Klaus Baumgart met Klaus Büchner, singer of the band Torfrock. Their first single, "Da steht ein Pferd auf’m Flur", released in 1983, marked their debut and led to appearances on various television shows. The breakthrough came in 1985 with the single "An der Nordseeküste", which reached gold status with over 250,000 copies sold. This success was followed by numerous hit albums, including Tierisch menschlich (1985), Schwer ist der Beruf (1986), and Wir feiern wieder Feste (1987). Klaus & Klaus became regulars in major music television programs and won the ZDF-Hitparade. In 1997, Klaus Büchner left the duo to focus on Torfrock, leading Klaus Baumgart to form a new trio with Claas Vogt and Andreas Neumann. This lineup released the single "3 wie wir" and had their own comedy show on Radio Bremen. After Neumann's departure in 2000, the duo continued with hits like "Ein Weißbier auf der Hütt’n" (2001) and "Ein Rudi Völler – Es gibt nur ein'n Rudi Völler" (2002). Notable later releases include Der Deutsche Meister kommt vom Weserstrand (2004). Küstengold (2010), The duo received several awards, including the RSH-Gold and the Goldene Stimmgabel. In 2015, they set a world record for the longest polonaise with 4405 participants at the Bremen Olé Party.
