A cross between Freddie Mercury and Adam Ant, King Charles (born Charles Costa in London in 1985) is one of the eccentrics that British rock likes to generate. Trained as an opera singer, he formed the band Adventure Playground in 2007, which only lasted a year. After a skiing accident and a competition win in Nashville in 2009 with the song "Love Lust", this baroque, wildly romantic character recorded his debut album LoveBlood, released in 2012. Three years later, following a major promotional tour, King Charles returned to the studio to record Gamble for a Rose, released in 2016, with his friend Marcus Mumford (Mumford & Sons).
