Kikagaku Moyo, a Japanese psychedelic band from Tokyo, was founded in 2012 by Go Kurosawa and Tomo Katsurada. Initially playing together in an old studio, they sought additional members who shared their enthusiasm for music despite limited experience. Their self-titled debut album was released in 2013. Facing financial challenges performing live in Japan, the band gained traction internationally with Forest of Lost Children (2014). They toured extensively in the U.S., Europe, and Australia. Kikagaku Moyo continued to release albums such as House in the Tall Grass (2016) and Masana Temples (2018), all under their own label Guruguru Brain, which they founded in 2015. In January 2022, the band announced they would go on an indefinite hiatus. Their album, Kumoyo Island, was released in May 2022, followed by their last show on December 3, 2022 at Meguro Persimmonn Hall in Tokyo.
