Biography

KiEw, an electro-industrial band from Lüneburg, Germany, was founded in late 1990 by Andreas "Thedi" Thedens. Their first lineup included Thedens, Thilo Eichenberg, Birk Lübberstedt, and Jan Michel Luckow. In December 1993, the band had its live debut at Dorfgemeinschaftshaus Ochtmissen near Lüneburg. KiEw's early releases showcased their experimental sound. The band evolved to a more rhythmic power electro-industrial style with the release of Feierabend in 2000, which featured breakbeat and techno elements. KiEw signed with Out Of Line Music and released notable albums, including Divergent (2001), Audiotherapy (2004), and Exit #72 (2005). The band's main themes included insanity, schizophrenia, paranoia, and therapy. In 2010, Martin Mälzer officially joined KiEw as a vocalist and drummer but resigned in 2017 after the Primal Uproar Festival.
