Biography

Khalil Chahine, born on June 8, 1956 in France, is a French composer and guitarist of Egyptian origin. He began his career as a guitarist accompanying various artists such as Michel Legrand, Martial Solal, Jacques Dutronc, Diane Dufresne, and Henri Salvador. In November 1992, Chahine participated in the group formed by Jacques Dutronc for performances at the Casino de Paris, resulting in the album Jacques Dutronc au Casino. He later focused on composing and arranging music for television (jingles for France 2's news and weather segments) and film (Vénus Beauté (Institut), Monsieur Batignole). In 2012, Chahine composed an original score for the silent film Les Aventures du prince Ahmed, which was performed at various venues including the Louvre Auditorium. His discography also included albums such as Turkoise (2003), Bakhtus (2009), and Kafé Groppi (2018).
