Edward Russ, also known as Eddie Russ, born around 1940 in Pittsburgh, is an American fusion, jazz musician, keyboardist, pianist, and Fender Rhodes player. He began his career in the 1960s in Michigan, performing with notable artists such as Benny Golson, Sarah Vaughan, Stan Getz, and Dizzy Gillespie. In the early 1970s, Russ collaborated with Sonny Stitt on the album Tornado (1974) and formed his own jazz combo, The Mixed Bag, releasing the soul-jazz album Fresh Out. The single "Natasha", recorded with a trio, was released on Benny Poole's local label Cascades Sound. In 1976, Russ released See the Light, an album blending disco and funk music, featuring collaborations with Marcus Belgrave. Notable releases include Take a Look at Yourself (1978). Russ's work is influenced by Herbie Hancock and Lonnie Liston Smith. Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, he worked with artists like Bob Case and Shawn Wallace.
