Biography

Kevin Ridley, born on October 24, 1957, in Northumberland, England, is a British musician and sound engineer. He began performing on stage as a teenager in local pubs and clubs before moving to Newcastle in the mid-1980s. There, he started working at Impulse Studios, owned by David Wood, who also ran Neat Records, home to several New Wave of British Heavy Metal (NWOBHM) bands. Ridley's early productions included EPs for Atomkraft and Venom. In 1991, he produced the debut album The Wayward Sons of Mother Earth for Skyclad, a folk metal band featuring Martin Walkyier on vocals. He joined Skyclad as a rhythm and acoustic guitarist in 1998 and became the lead vocalist after Walkyier's departure in 2001. Ridley also contributed to other projects like Screen Idols and Forgodsake. His solo album Flying in the Face of Logic was released in 2011, showcasing a more acoustic sound.
