Biography
Kevin Hewick, born February 4, 1957 in Leicester, United Kingdom, is a British singer-songwriter. He received his first guitar at age six but only learned to play during his teens while studying at Countesthorpe College. After graduating from university, Hewick worked in a social security office and played in a band called Life before going solo. In 1979, he sent a demo tape to Factory Records, impressing Tony Wilson and earning a recording deal. His early recordings included "Haystack" and "A Piece of Fate", recorded with the surviving members of Joy Division at Graveyard Studios in June 1980. Hewick signed to Cherry Red Records in 1983, releasing his debut album Such Hunger for Love. In 1999, Hewick released Helpline on Sorted Records.
