Biography
Real name Alain Francheteau, French-Canadian reggae singer Ken de Korogo was born in 1963. He was just 4 when his father was posted to Côte d'Ivoire and left North America. He arrived in Korhogo, the country's third most populous city, and the largest city in the north of the country. As a teenager, he discovered reggae through Bob Marley's universal messages. His music was gradually enriched by the influences of artists such as Alpha Blondy, U-Roy, and later Tiken Jah Fakoly, Serges Kassy and Kajeem. Affectionately nicknamed "l'Africain blanc" (the white African), and holding Ivorian nationality, he released his first album, Love In Africa , in 1990. Its successor, Love, was released in 1996. His discography continued to expand in 2002 with the album Tout le Monde s'en Fout , followed by Maux d'Afrique in 2009. Delayed due to the Covid crisis, the release of his fifth opus, Défi Africain, recorded in Abidjan in Tiken Jah Fakoly's studio, is finally scheduled for 2021.
