Keisho Ohno is a Japanese tsugaru shamisen musician born on December 1, 1975, in Niigata. He began musical training at age eight under Chikuei Takahashi and received the title Natori at age 12. Ohno performed at the South by Southwest festival in 2006 and toured the United States. He released his debut studio recording, Shamisen Tamashi â Shamisen Spirit, in 2007. His discography included the recordings SAMURAI (2008), AMBIENCE (2009), and MICHI (2010). He performed in France and Luxembourg in 2008 and became the first shamisen player accredited to perform in the Paris metro in 2010. Ohno released the album KAMOME in February 2011, which featured the recordings âKamomeâ and âCosmosâ. He also released the albums KEI (2013) and SPARK (2013).
