Biography

Kauko Röyhkä, born Jukka-Pekka Välimaa on February 12, 1959 in Valkeakoski, Finland, is a Finnish rock musician and author. He began his career as a singer-songwriter in 1980, releasing his debut album Steppaillen that same year. Röyhkä's most famous backing band was Narttu, with whom he collaborated throughout the years 1980–1990. Notable subsequent albums include Kaksi Koiraa (1990), Jumalan Lahja (1993), and Miss Farkku-Suomi (2001). Röyhkä also became known for his literary works, having published ten novels or short story collections.
