Hailing from Houston, Texas, American Kat Edmonson (b. 1983) has set out to establish what she calls vintage pop. A blend of traditional pop, baroque pop and jazz pop, which she enriches as a singer-songwriter. Indeed, while her first album Take to the Sky (2009) was made up of largely reinterpreted covers, the second Way Down Low (2012) enabled her to impose her songwriting. With this album, Kat Edmonson reaches number one on Billboard's heatseekers chart, reserved for newcomers. The springboard earned her a contract with Sony Masterworks and equivalent success for The Big Picture, released in 2014. The album was released in January 2015 in France, where she had already performed on her previous tour.
