Kartik Seshadri, born in 1957 in Madras, India, is an Indian sitar player and teacher of Indian classical music. He began playing the sitar at age six and started studying under Pandit Ravi Shankar at 18, later touring and performing with his guru. Notable collaborations include working with composer Philip Glass on the Orion project in 2005 and 2010. Seshadri has performed at prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, and the Melbourne International Arts Festival, as well as at various music conferences in India. He received the Artist of the Month nomination from the Sangeeth Research Academy (SRA) in June 2012 and an award from the Federation of Indian Associations (FIA) in 2014 for his contributions to music and art.
