Karin Ilona Stanek, also known as Karin Stanek, was born on August 18,â¯1943, in Bytom, Poland, and was a Polish big beat singer. After winning a national contest in 1962, she joined CzerwonoâCzarni and recorded hits "Jimmyâ¯Joe" and "Malowanaâ¯lala". Her first solo LP appeared in the U.S. in 1966, followed by the bandâs albums CzerwonoâCzarni (1966) and 17,â¯000,â¯000 (1967). Leaving the group in 1969, she issued the German album Das geballte Temperament mit der unerhörten Stimme (1979) and the English single "Let's Have a Party" (1981). Returning to Poland in 1991, she performed at Opole. Her studio track, the eurodance "Sex", was released in 2005. She died from pneumonia on February 15, 2011, after which a 3âCD collection was issued.
