Biography

Kang Baek-Soo, born as Kang Min-gu on February 18, 1987, in Ulsan's Ulju County, South Korea, is a poet and singer-songwriter often described as a "fairy of literature and music." Known for his witty and narrative-rich lyrics, he actively participates in various fields including broadcasting and lecturing. Following his appearance on 15 Minutes to Change the World in 2013, he has been a popular speaker at schools and businesses. Kang, who grew up in Seoul but often references his birthplace in his song "Ulsan," began his music career influenced by a friend named Ha Heon-jae, as mentioned in his song. He chose the stage name Kang Baek-soo, humorously suggesting social indifference to indie band members, but it also refers to an ancient poem. His songwriting often draws from personal experiences, offering deeper insights into his music, as seen in his album Unripe (2016), meaningless things (2021) and singles like "Abdication" (2024) and "100cc" (2025).
