South Korean superstar Jung Yong-hwa, born June 22, 1989 in Seoul, began his show business career as a member of the pop rock band CNBLUE. His pale skin and his pretty face made him a breakout star. He would parlay the groupâs success into a steady acting career. He had major roles on various television programs including 2009âs Youâre Beautiful, 2010âs We Got Married, 2011âs Heartstrings, 2013âs Marry Him If You Dare, and 2014âs The Three Musketeers. He flirted with the idea of a solo music career, releasing two singles during this period including the 2011 Korean number 1 âFor First Time Lovers (Banmal Song)â, which his character sang in We Got Married. He issued his solo debut, One Fine Day, in 2015. An attempt to evolve into a more mature sound than CNBLUE while retaining its pop appeal, it topped the Korean album chart and went top 5 in Japan. The title track also climbed to number 3 on the Korean pop chart. 20107âs follow-up Summer Calling reached number 3 on the Japanese album chart, and 2020âs Feel the Yâs City, nearly matched that feat, but stalled at number 4. In 2021, Jung released the Chinese EP Stay in Touch. In September 2023, he released the EP Your City and later in July 2025, he released another EP One Last Day, featuring the title track "Night Runner (Shooting Star)".
