Julien Daïan, born April 26, 1978 in Paris and raised in Marseille, is a saxophonist, composer, producer and artistic director. In 2005, he founded the Julien Daïan Quintet, with whom he released three albums: French Paradox (2009), Behind the Reef (2013), and CUT UP (2021), featuring collaborations with Luciano, Mikey General and Guillaume Perret. In 2017, he created the progressive punk trio Vanilla Sax and the Radiators, followed in 2018 by the hip-hop group Coolangatta, with the album We Ya Shine (2020). Founder of the French Paradox label in 2017, he produces artists such as Alain Jean-Marie and Guillaume Perret, and was awarded a Coup de Coeur by the Académie Charles-Cros in 2020.
