Biography
Judith Allen Roderick, born December 14, 1942 in Wyandotte, Michigan, was an American folk and blues singer-songwriter. She began her musical career while attending the University of Colorado in Boulder. In the early 1960s, Roderick moved to New York City and secured a record deal with Columbia Records. Her debut album, Ain't Nothin' but the Blues, was released in 1964. She performed at the Newport Folk Festival that year. After disagreements with producer Bobby Scott, Roderick signed with Vanguard Records and released her critically acclaimed album Woman Blue in 1965. In 1972, she formed the band 60,000,000 Buffalo and released Nevada Jukebox. Roderick continued performing until her death from a heart attack on January 22, 1992.
