Biography

Laura Pausini (born 16 May 1974 in Faenza) is an Italian pop icon who rose to fame after winning the Newcomers section of the Sanremo Music Festival in 1993 with “La solitudine.” Her self-titled debut Laura Pausini (1993) and its Spanish version launched her internationally, followed by multi-platinum albums including Laura (1994), Le cose che vivi (1996), La mia risposta (1998), Tra te e il mare (2000), Resta in ascolto (2004), Io canto (2006), Primavera in anticipo (2008), Inedito (2011), Simili (2015), Fatti sentire (2018) and Anime parallele / Almas paralelas (2023). One of the best-selling Italian artists worldwide (70M+ records), she records in Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, English and French, won a Grammy Awards (2006, Best Latin Pop Album for Escucha), multiple Latin Grammy Awards (including Person of the Year 2023), and co-hosted the Eurovision Song Contest in Turin. In 2026, twenty years after Io Canto / Yo Canto, Laura Pausini released the multilingual covers album Io Canto 2 / Yo Canto 2, including collaborations with Julien Lieb, Achille Lauro, Annalisa, Lucio Dalla, Ana Carolina and Ferrugem.
