Biography
Joseph is an American folk band from Portland, Oregon, formed in 2014 by sisters Natalie Closner, Allison Closner, and Meegan Closner. They self-released their debut album Native Dreamer Kin in March 2014. In August 2016, their second full-length album, I'm Alone, No You're Not, produced by Mike Mogis, debuted at Number 1 on Billboard's Heatseekers chart. The album included the hit single "White Flag", which reached Number 1 on the Adult Alternative Songs chart and was featured on NPR's Songs We Love. Joseph performed extensively, including appearances on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and at major festivals like Coachella and Lollapalooza. In September 2019, they released their third album, Good Luck, Kid. On August 2, 2024, the band announced Allison Closner's departure from the group. The album Closer to Happy was released in January of 2026.
