Josefus was an American rock band from Houston, Texas. The group initially consisted of Dave Mitchell and Ray Turner, who had previously played together in a high school band called Rip West. The band's lineup solidified with the addition of vocalist Pete Bailey and guitarist Doug Tull. They released their album, Dead Man, in 1970. Josefus performed its last concert in Houston at an auto show but reunited in the late 1970s, recording four singles on the Hookah label, including "Slave of Fear" and "Let Me Move You". In 1990, they released Son of Dead Man with drummer Leesa Harrington-Squyres. The band continued to perform regionally over the following decades, releasing albums such as Dead Man Alive (2002) and Halloween 2004 Live (2005). Pete Bailey died on April 27, 2024, in Pasadena, Texas.
