Biography

Jonathan Piuze-Roy, known as Jonathan Roy, was born on March 15, 1989, in Pointe-Claire, Quebec, Canada, and is a singer and ice hockey player. Before his music career, he played hockey as a goaltender at the junior level. In 2009, Roy released his debut album, What I've Become, marking his entry into the music industry. He continued with subsequent albums, including Found My Way (2010), La Route (2011), and Mr. Optimist Blues (2017). Notable singles from these albums include "Daniella Denmark" and "You're My Ace". Roy collaborated with Natasha Saint-Pier on the song La Route. In 2023, he was nominated for his first ADISQ awards in the categories of Spectacle de l'année - Anglophone and Album de l'année - Anglophone.
