Biography
In 2018, Florida rock musician Jon Schaffer announced the formation of his new band which he named Jon Schaffer's Purgatory. Schaffer is best known for being the driving force behind the heavy metal band Iced Earth who were once named Purgatory during an early incarnation. To form the new band Schaffer recruited former Iced Earth members Gene Adams and Bill Owen, augmented by guest musicians Jim Morris, Mark Prator and Ruben Drake. The band's first EP was a collection of Schaffer's early material, some of which was originally recorded for Iced Earth.
