Biography
Johanna Borchert, born in 1983 in Berlin, is a German pianist, singer, and composer known for her work in jazz music. She studied jazz piano and composition at the Universität der Künste Berlin and the Rytmisk Musikkonservatorium in Kopenhagen. Borchert's debut album, Orchestre Idéal, was released in 2012. She gained recognition for her work with the band Schneeweiss & Rosenrot, releasing three albums together. Her solo project FM Biography (2014) earned her an Echo Jazz award in 2015. Borchert has toured extensively across Europe, Asia, and North America, and has been nominated for several awards, including the Danish Music Awards in 2012 with The Big Bang and winning the Neuen Deutschen Jazzpreis in 2012 with Schneeweiss & Rosenrot. Her album Amniotic, released in 2022, marked her return to music following her second pregnancy.
