Biography
Joe Krown is an American keyboardist. He began playing piano as a child and later discovered the Hammond organ while attending college. In the late 1980s, Krown relocated to Boston and formed his own band, touring around New England. He joined Clarence "Gatemouth" Brownâs band, Gate's Express, in 1991, remaining until Brown's death in 2005. Krown debuted as a solo artist in 1997 with the album Just the Piano...Just the Blues. In 1999, he formed The Joe Krown Organ Combo, releasing several albums including Down & Dirty (1999) and Funk Yard (2002). He became a regular performer at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival in 2001. He joined Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band as a full-time member in June 2017.
