Biography

Bazuka was an American instrumental R&B group put together by record producer Tony Camillo. The group's breakthrough came in 1975 with the release of its self-titled debut studio album, Bazuka (1975), on A&M Records. The album featured the hit single “Dynomite” (1975), which reached number 10 on the US Billboard Hot 100, number 6 on the US Hot Dance Club Play chart, number 11 on the US Disco chart, number 29 on the US Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, and number 97 on the Australian Kent Music Report. In June 1975, the single also peaked at number 28 on the UK Singles Chart. The follow-up single, “Love Explosion” (1975), was less successful, peaking at number 92 on the US Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. The group subsequently released the singles “Theme from Police Woman” (1976) and “(C'est) Le Rock” (1979).
