Biography

James Kevin Salestrom, also known as Jim Salestrom, was born on February 20, 1956, in Omaha, Nebraska. He was an American singer-songwriter. He co-founded the country-folk rock band Timberline in 1971, serving as the lead singer and primary songwriter alongside his brother Chuck Salestrom, Dugg Duggan, Craig Link, and Bill Howland. His song "It's Too Soon to Let Our Love End" was recorded by Mary MacGregor on her album Torn Between Two Lovers (1976). In 1979, Salestrom joined Dolly Parton’s band as a singer and musician. As a solo artist, he released numerous albums, including Music from the Mountains (2003) and performed in shows around the world. Salestrom won two Regional Emmys and three Colorado Broadcast Awards. His recording All The Colors was nominated for a Grammy for Outstanding Children's Album in 1997. He passed away on November 22, 2023, at his home in Arvada, Colorado, at the age of 67.
