Jess Lee, born Lee Kar Wei on 1â¯Juneâ¯1988 in Seremban, Negeriâ¯Sembilan, Malaysia, is a Mandopop singer who began vocal training at age eight and later pursued pop songs under a vocal teacherâs guidance. After competing in Malaysian Idol in 2004 and Astro Star Quest in 2008, she entered Taiwanâs One Million Star in 2010, becoming the first Malaysian champion and earning four consecutive perfect scores before signing with Warner Music Taiwan. Her debut studio album æè¬æ人 was released on 16â¯Septemberâ¯2011, featuring the single "Torture"; the album entered the top ten in Taiwanâs physical sales charts. In 2014 she issued 天å /æ¸å´, whose title track "Cliff Like Heaven" became the opening theme for the Korean drama The Masterâs Sun and reached number one on the digital download list. The 2016 album æçé¢¨æ´ included "Blizzard" and "Chain Love", both of which topped the KKBOX and Omusic charts. Jess Leeâs 2022 release çå¿« was awarded Top 20 Chinese Album of the Year at the 2022 APMA Asian Pop Music Awards, and her 2023 single "Forever Song" entered the top five on several Mandarinâlanguage radio stations. She has also performed international tours in Shanghai, Nanjing and Beijing, and collaborated with DJs and film soundtracks, solidifying her presence in the Mandopop market.
