Vic Teo, born on October 25, 1985, in Malacca, Malaysia, is a renowned Mandopop singer, songwriter, and music producer. He began his career in 2007 with the release of his debut EP 回来 and quickly gained recognition for his talents as a composer and lyricist. Over the years, he has worked with several prominent artists, including Coco Lee, Selina, and Karencici. In 2018, he joined Seed Music and changed his stage name to Zhang Yuchen, later acquiring Taiwanese permanent residency in 2021. He released his first full album, 黑白, in 2018, which received acclaim from radio DJs. In 2019, his popularity soared with a sold-out concert in Taipei, and his music continued to win praise, including a nomination for Best Male Artist at the AIM Music Awards. Teo also gained recognition for his philanthropic work and his podcast, 辰间怪谈, which has attracted a loyal following due to its unique focus on supernatural stories.
