Biography
Yifan Zhang, known professionally as JerryC, was born on August 31, 1982, in Taiwan and is a guitarist and composer. He began playing the guitar at age 17 and the piano before turning 15. JerryC's breakthrough came with his rock arrangement of Johann Pachelbel's Canon in D, titled "Canon Rock", which gained internet fame. The song gained significant media attention after South Korean guitarist Lim Jeong-hyun, also known as funtwo, performed a cover version in 2005. JerryC's arrangement of "Canon Rock" was featured in Guitar World magazine in January 2007 and became one of the top 10 downloaded guitar tabs on the Ultimate Guitar Archive. In 2007, JerryC signed a recording contract with Taiwanese label HIM International Music. He released an EP, Canon Rock, which included "Canon Rock" and "Dear Mozart" along with backing tracks of both.
