Jerry Wayne Joseph, born April 19, 1961, in Los Angeles, California, is an American singer-songwriter who began his musical journey at age 15 while attending a boarding school in New Zealand. In late 1981, he formed the rock/reggae band Little Women, which released albums like Life's Just Bitchin (1987) and Pretty Wiped Out (1990). After Little Women disbanded in 1993, Joseph started his solo career with The Welcome Hunters (1993). Notable solo releases include Love & Happiness (1994), recorded in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. In 1996, he formed the band Jackmormons, releasing albums such as Butte, Mont. 1879 (1996) and Conscious Contact (2001), featuring musicians like Chuck Leavell and Vic Chesnutt.
