Biography
Jerry Galante, born on April 2 in Cali, Colombia, is a Colombian salsa musician and singer known as âEl Galante de la Salsa.â He gained recognition in the 1980s for his distinctive style and became a bandleader, performing with groups such as La Sonora Dinamita and Charanga América. In 1994, Galante released his debut solo album, Todo Un Ãxtasis De Amor, which was a major success in Colombia. His second album, Estoy Enamorado, was released in 1996 under the RMM label. Over the years, he has collaborated with notable salsa artists and won several awards, including the Paoli Prize in Puerto Rico, the ACE Award as a local artist in New York, and El Caracol Caribe at the Festival de Música del Caribe in Cartagena.
