Jerald Daemyon is an American electric jazz violinist from Detroit, Michigan. Influenced by violinists like Jean-Luc Ponty and Stéphane Grappelli, Daemyon's work aligned more closely with the jazz-funk style of Noel Pointer. His breakthrough came with the 1995 album Thinking About You, initially released independently on Jazzestra Records before gaining traction on urban radio stations worldwide. The album's success led to a signing with GRP/Universal Records, where it topped Number 1 on Billboard's Urban and Contemporary Jazz charts and won the magazine's award for Best Contemporary Jazz Album in 1997. Notable tracks from this period include "Summer Madness", a cover of Kool & The Gang's instrumental, which was remixed by Masters At Work and heavily played on radio stations.
