Jenny Choi is an American indie rock singer-songwriter and cellist of Korean descent from Glenview, Illinois. Choi founded the Asians in Rock tour and performed as the lead singer of the Chicago band Sanawon. She graduated from the University of Illinois at UrbanaâChampaign and performed as a member of the group Sweet Black and Blue, providing synthesizer and vocals alongside Philip Stone and Ben Weasel. Choi released the albums Bittersweet (1998) and Grand and Ashland (2001) with The Third Shift, followed by the solo release Postcard Stories (2003). As a session musician, she performed cello on Mike Parkâs North Hangook Falling, The Lawrence Armsâ Oh! Calcutta!, and Sundownerâs Four One Five Two. Additionally, Choi contributed vocals to the debut album by This Is Me Smiling. She has remained active in the music industry since the late 1990s.
