Biography

Born in Waco, Texas, on February 21, 1979, Jennifer Love Hewitt is a musician and Golden Globe-nominated actress who became a teen idol during the 1990s, thanks to her roles in the TV show Party of Five, the comedy film Can't Hardly Wait, and the box office hit I Know What You Did Last Summer. Although best known for her work in film and television, Hewitt has also maintained a singing career, appearing on Martika's Number One hit "Toy Soldiers" as a backup singer in 1988 and, one year later, joining the cast of Kids Incorporated. Her debut album, 1992's Love Songs, was a hit in Japan, leading to an American contract with Atlantic Records. Although 1995's Let's Go Bang and 1996's Jennifer Love Hewitt failed to chart, Hewitt scored a radio hit in 1999 with "How Do I Deal." Released on the I Know What You Did Last Summer soundtrack, "How Do I Deal" was followed in 2002 by BareNaked, a Top 40 album that found Hewitt writing most of her own material and collaborating with producers like solo artist Meredith Brooks and the New Radicals' Gregg Alexander. 11 years later, she released a cover of Peggy Lee's "I'm a Woman" to help promote her Lifetime series The Client List.
