Jeffrey Foucault, born on January 26, 1976, in Whitewater, Wisconsin, is an American songwriter known for his blend of American country, folk, blues, and rock 'n'roll. His musical journey began with the release of Miles from the Lightning in 2001. Over the years, Foucault has released several notable albums, including Stripping Cane (2004), Ghost Repeater (2006), and Horse Latitudes (2011). Foucault has collaborated with various artists, including poet Lisa Olstein under the moniker Cold Satellite, and produced albums for other musicians such as Hayward Williams' The Reef (2014) and Caitlin Canty's Reckless Skyline (2015). His album Salt as Wolves, self-released in 2015, debuted at number 7 on the Billboard Top Blues Album Chart. His songs have been featured on television shows like Sons of Anarchy, Preacher, and Nashville. Foucault has toured extensively across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Europe since 2001.
