Biography

Je Suis France, an American indie rock group formed in Athens, Georgia, in 1997. The band's early lineup included Sean Rawls on drums, who was later replaced by Jeff Griggs. Their debut album, Je Suis France, was released in 2000 through Pitch-A-Tent Records. This release marked their entry into the music scene and led to performances at festivals such as CMJ and SXSW. In 2003, they released Fantastic Area on Orange Twin Records, which later ranked twentieth on Polish music website Porcys' list of the best records between 2000 and 2009. The band continued with Afrikan Majik in 2007 under Antenna Farm Records. Between 2000 and 2009, Je Suis France organized the Twilight Delirium concert series, featuring various bands including Masters of the Hemisphere and Royal Bangs.
