Jean-Bedel Mpiana wa Tshituka, known as JB Mpiana, was born on 2 June 1967 in Kananga, Democratic Republic of the Congo. He is a Congolese singer and dancer-choreographer who began his musical journey at age ten. In October 1984, he joined Wenge Musica, a group that included Didier Masela, Werrason, Adolphe Dominguez, Alain Makaba, and Blaise Bula. The group's debut album Bouger Bouger (1988) featured his compositions "Mulolo" and "La fille du roi", which helped establish the band in Congolese music. Wenge Musica released several successful albums, including Kin à Bougé (1991), Kala Yi Boeing (1993), and Les Anges Adorables (1994). In 1997, following the group's dissolution, he formed Wenge BCBG. His solo debut album Feux de l'amour (1998) included the hit "Ndombolo".
