Biography
Jason Crest was an English psychedelic pop group established in 1967. The ensemble was originally known as the Good Thing Brigade and consisted of vocalist Terry Clarke, keyboardist Terry Dobson, guitarist Derek Smallcombe, bassist Ron Fowler, and drummer Roger Siggery. Bassist John Selley replaced Fowler after the group's third single. Their recording career began with the debut single "Turquoise Tandem Cycle" (1967) followed by "Juliano the Bull" (1967). They released a cover version of the Move song "(Here We Go Round) The Lemon Tree" (1968). Their fourth single "Waterloo Road" (1968) was adapted into French as the song "Les Champs-Ãlysées" by the singer Joe Dassin and reached Number 1 in France. The ensemble released the single "Place in the Sun" (1968) before disbanding in 1969 when their recording contract with the label Philips Records expired. Their songs, including "Black Mass" and "Turquoise Tandem Cycle", have since appeared on compilation recordings of British psychedelia and freakbeat.
