Biography

Jason Boland & The Stragglers is an American red dirt and Texas country band from Harrah, Oklahoma. Formed in 1998 by Jason Boland, the group initially included Brad Rice, Roger Ray, and Grant Tracy. They released their debut album Pearl Snaps in 1999. They gained prominence with subsequent albums such as Truckstop Diaries (2001) and Somewhere in the Middle (2004). They recorded a live album, Live and Lit at Billy Bob's Texas, in 2002 at the iconic Fort Worth dancehall. Despite a vocal cord injury in 2008 that temporarily threatened Boland's singing career, he recovered, and they released the album Comal County Blue (2008). In 2015, they released Squelch, which debuted at number 11 on the Top Country Albums chart. They were inducted into the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame in April 2025. Their subsequent albums include The Light Saw Me (2021) and The Last Kings of Babylon (2025).
