Gry Jannicke Jarlum, known professionally as Jannicke, was born on April 6, 1962, in Oslo, Norway. She is a Norwegian pop musician and author who began her career with the release of her album Min Stil in 1981. Her breakthrough came with the single "Statussymboler" in 1981, which marked her entry into the music scene. Her 1981 album Svake mennesker reached Number 1 on the VG-lista for 16 weeks, solidifying her status as a prominent figure in Norwegian rock music. Jarlum's subsequent albums include My Rock'n Roll Album (1982), Draculas Datter (1983), and Change (1985). In addition to her musical endeavors, Jarlum is also known for her literary work, including the book Du er jeg (1994), which details her alleged experiences with extraterrestrial life.
