Biography
Jake Andrews is an American blues rock guitarist, singer, and songwriter. He began playing guitar at age five under the guidance of his father, John Andrews of the 1960s band Mother Earth, and at age eight performed onstage with Albert King at the Austin blues venue Antoneâs. In 1999, Andrews released his debut album Time to Burn through Jericho Records, with the title single becoming a Top Ten Rock Radio hit and earning him the "Breakout Rock Group" award from R&R (Radio and Records). He has performed and recorded with notable artists including B.B. King, Buddy Guy, Albert King, Ray Charles, and Eric Clapton. His subsequent solo albums include a self-titled release in 2001, Feelin' Good Again (2007), In The Shadows (2017), and Train Back Home (2023). Andrews has also contributed to collaborative projects, notably Guitar Shortyâs We the People (2006), which won "Album of the Year" at the 2007 Blues Music Awards, and two albums by Paul Jones, Starting All Over Again (2009) and Suddenly I Like It (2015).
